WPL 2026 Points Table Update: Gujarat Giants Women Beat UP Warriorz by 45 Runs
Gujarat Giants Women returned to winning form with a big victory over UP Warriorz Women. They beat the Meg Lanning-led side by 45 runs, picked up their third win of the season, and moved up to second place on the points table.
Earlier in the game, UP Warriorz Women won the toss and opted to bowl. Gujarat Giants got off to a good start but lost Danielle Wyatt-Hodge early in the piece. Anushka Sharma also fell after hitting a few boundaries. Beth Mooney made 38 off 34 before losing her wicket. Sophie Devine struggled throughout her innings but kept fighting to score a half-century off 42 balls. Kashvee Gautam hit a six down the order to get to double figures. She was only the fifth batter to get there as others struggled on a slow and low track.Kranti Gaud, Sophie Ecclestone picked up two wickets each. Deepti Sharma and Chloe Tryon both picked up a wicket each.
Gujarat Giants Women Dominate UP Warriorz to Climb to Second Spot
In reply, Meg Lanning was going great guns but they lost Kiran Navgire for a duck. Phoebe Litchfield and Lanning added 37 runs before Lanning was dismissed. Litchfield soon fell for 32. She wasn't sure if it was a bump ball or not, even Meg Lanning was seen having an animated chat with the 4th umpire near the sidelines but the end result was she was given out.
Chloe Tryon remained not out on 30 off 22 but wickets kept falling at the other end and they were eventually bowled out for 108 in 17.3 overs. Rajeshwari Gayakwad was the pick of the bowlers, taking 3 for 16 from her four. Sophie Devine and Renuka Singh Thakur both chipped in with a couple of wickets each. Kashvee Gautam and Ash Gardner got one each to wrap up an emphatic win for the Giants.
