Women’s World Cup 2025 Semifinal: What Happens If India vs Australia Is Washed Out?

India may not be seen as the favourite against Australia in the second semifinal of the Women’s ODI World Cup 2025. But there’s a chance the hosts could lose even without taking the field. The match, scheduled for October 30 at the Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai, faces a serious threat from rain.

Navi Mumbai Weather Report

On October 30, Navi Mumbai is likely to be around 32°C, according to AccuWeather. The not-so-great news is that there’s a 69% chance of rain during the day. It’s expected to stay cloudy, with rain possibly coming on and off throughout.

The ICC has set a reserve day for the India vs Australia semifinal. If the game can’t be finished on October 30, it will be played the next day. But what happens if it rains on the reserve day too?

What Happens If India vs Australia Is Washed Out?

If rain stops the first or second semifinal from being played, the team that finished higher on the points table will move straight to the 2025 Women’s ODI World Cup Final. Considering that Australia finished on top and India at fourth, it’ll be the 7-time champions that’ll move to the final.

Similarly, if the first semifinal between England and South Africa gets abandoned or ends in a no result, it’ll be England who’ll move to the final.
