Women’s T20 World Cup: Updated Points Table after Pakistan lose and West Indies win two in two
Pakistan, the Netherlands, New Zealand, and Ireland are so far the only teams without a single win as the teams complete two matches each. Pakistan had another off-day at Edgbaston, this time against South Africa, who got their first couple of points.
Pakistan captain Fatima Sana raced against the impossible with both bat and ball as she scored an unbeaten 55 while taking three wickets. However, with only meagre contributions from her teammates, the side’s defeat was certain.
On the other hand, West Indies Women clinched a win over Scotland after a tough contest. Scotland openers Darcey Carter and Katherine Fraser gave the side a thumping start, but the middle order failed to build on it. A late-innings cameo by Ailsa Lister revived some of their chances, but her dismissal in the 19th over ended Scotland’s resistance as West Indies won the game by seven runs.
