Will Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma Play in the 2027 ODI World Cup?

When it comes to Team India and the 2027 ODI World Cup, fans can’t stop asking one thing: will Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma still be playing? The simple answer seems to be yes. After all, they played in the recent India vs Australia series and are set to play in the upcoming India vs South Africa ODIs, so chances are they’ll be around for the World Cup too.
But now, bowling coach Morne Morkel has shared his thoughts on it as well. He added that Virat and Rohit, if fit, would be there.
“It’s still a long way away.. They’re quality players. As long as they’re happy to put the hard work in and the fitness, sure. Can for sure play the 2027 World Cup if they mentally and physically feel that their bodies can do that,” Morne Morkel said.
“I’ve always believed in experience and to have that experience, you don’t find that anywhere. They’ve won trophies, they know how to play big tournaments. So for sure, the World Cup, by all means. I’ve played many games against them. I’ve had sleepless nights bowling to them. So I know as a bowler what goes through your preparation playing against them. So for me, definitely on board with that (on Kohli and Rohit playing the World Cup),” he added.
The India vs South Africa ODI series kicks off on November 30 in Ranchi, with the next game in Raipur, and the final match in Vizag on Saturday.
