PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi will not participate in the upcoming ICC meeting in Ahmedabad that will be held during IPL 2026 Final. There were previous reports where it was said that Naqvi had been invited for ICC meeting on 30th and 31st of May and he was negotiating about his visit to India with the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif.

Mohsin Naqvi to Skip Ahmedabad ICC Meeting During IPL 2026 Final

According to a report by PTI, Naqvi was not at all invited for visiting India for the ICC meeting. Instead, Naqvi along with two more cricket board officials will attend the ICC meeting virtually on 21st of May.

ICC already knew that Naqvi is unlikely to come to India as there is a very poor relation between India and Pakistan. The in-person ICC meeting will still take place in Ahmedabad alongside IPL 2026 Final.

At first, the meeting was scheduled in Doha, Qatar from 25th till 27th of March. However, the meeting was postponed due to strained relations in West Asia countries including the USA, Israel, and Iran. One of the major topics in the meeting will be ICC global broadcasting rights as the existing agreement will expire in 2027.

The ICC said that,

“The meetings will bring together ICC Board Directors, Chief Executives, Committee Members and senior leadership as part of the organisation’s ongoing governance calendar, providing an important opportunity to deliberate over key matters pertaining to the present and future of the global game,”
