The semi-finals of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026 are coming soon. The teams for the knockout stage are almost decided. The top two teams from each Super 8 group will qualify for the semi-finals, which will be played on March 4 and March 5. In the Super 8 stage, each team faces the other three sides in its group once.
The group standings will decide the four semi-finalists in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026. If teams have the same points and wins, Net Run Rate (NRR) will be used to break the tie. Co-hosts Sri Lanka were the first team to be eliminated from the Super 8 stage following a 61-run defeat to New Zealand in Colombo. New Zealand became the second team from Group 2 to qualify for the semi-finals on Net Run Rate after Pakistan could not beat Sri Lanka by 65 runs or more in their final Super 8 match. England, with three wins out of three, topped Group 2.
Meanwhile, South Africa national cricket team became the first team from Group 1 to qualify for the semi-finals in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026 after beating India national cricket team and West Indies cricket team. Zimbabwe national cricket team became the first team to be eliminated from Group 1 after losing by 72 runs to the India national cricket team in Chennai. The India vs West Indies match at the Eden Gardens on Sunday will decide the second team from the group.
The semi-finals will see the Group 2 winners face the Group 1 runners-up while the Group 1 winners have been drawn against the Group 2 runners-up.The first semi-final on March 4 will be played at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. The second semi-final is slated to be hosted at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The T20 World Cup 2026 final will be played on March 8 and will be played in Ahmedabad.
