'We will break the suspense tomorrow': Suryakumar Yadav reacts to IND-PAK handshake debate

First, Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha talked about shaking hands with the Indian players. A few hours later, Suryakumar Yadav also shared his thoughts, and like usual, he didn’t give a straight yes or no. India and Pakistan will play their third T20 World Cup match in Colombo on Sunday, but instead of the game, these off-field discussions are getting more attention.
ON being asked the same question, Surya replied, “We will break the suspense tomorrow. Is the game important or this? Wait for 24 hours.”
Apart from that, Surya was also asked about the team combination and the batters’ form. The captain, Suryakumar Yadav, said the situation is very similar to the Asia Cup, and it will be a tough decision to choose which bowler plays and which one misses out.
Surya stays coy on handshake, says team selection will be tough
“It is going to be difficult which pacer to play and which spinner to play. It is difficult to pick. But we have a few combinations that has worked for us. It is similar to Asia Cup, we have a few tough calls to make.”
He said, “Washy (Washington Sundar) joined the team and it means he is ready and good to go. I feel their spinners have been doing well with their combination. We have our plans to tackle them. We have a similar set-up as well. The pitch looks good.”
Meanwhile, there is a rain threat over the IND vs PAK match in Colombo. The forecast for Sunday shows cloudy conditions with showers likely during the day. The Sri Lankan authorities have also issued a rain alert, raising concerns that the match could be delayed or even washed out if the weather does not improve.
