Ben Stokes Bat Throw Siraj IND vs ENG 1st Test Mohammed Siraj was full of emotion after getting his first wicket of the match, removing England captain Ben Stokes on Day 3 of the first Test in Leeds. Siraj had worked hard, bowling 17 overs without success before finally striking. Stokes was clearly upset with himself after edging the ball to wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant and getting out for 20 off 52 balls. His dismissal left England in trouble at 276 for 5.

Siraj bowled a length ball from around the wicket that moved slightly after pitching, tempting Ben Stokes into a shot. With a silly mid-off in place, Stokes tried to play it a bit squarer, but only managed to get a faint edge. Rishabh Pant took the catch behind the stumps, and as Stokes turned around, he realised his mistake th e catch was clean and he had to walk back.

Stokes’ Reaction Says It All After Losing His Wicket at the Wrong Time

Stokes was trying to hold the innings together, kn ew right away that he had made a big mistake at an important time. You could see the frustration on his face. He threw his bat up in the air, caught it and held it tightly between his chin and chest clearly angry with himself for getting out when his team needed him.

India fought back strongly on Day 3 of the first Test with a sharp bowling performance. Prasidh Krishna got the early breakthrough by dismissing Ollie Pope for 106, while Mohammed Siraj removed England captain Ben Stokes.

At the time of writing, England were 356 for 6 after 83 overs, with Harry Brook and woakes at the crease. Jasprit Bumrah has been India’s best bowler so far, picking up three key wickets Zak Crawley, Ben Duckett and Joe Root on Day 2.

Jaiswal, Gill, and Pant Power India to Big First-Innings Total

Batting first, India posted a strong total of 471 in their first innings. Yashasvi Jaiswal set the tone with a solid 101 off 159 balls hitting one six and 16 fours and added 91 runs for the opening stand with KL Rahul scored 42. Captain Shubman Gill and vice-captain Rishabh Pant then took charge, putting together a 209-run partnership for the fourth wicket. Gill was the top scorer with 147 off 227 balls, while Pant played an entertaining knock of 134 off 178 smashing 6 sixes and 12 fours.
