Watch: Indian National Anthem Played in Lahore Before Australia vs England Match; PCB Criticized
Before the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 match between Australia and England in Lahore, there was a small mix-up before the game. Instead of the Australian national anthem, the Indian national anthem started playing at the Gaddafi Stadium, leaving the Australian players and fans surprised. The organizers quickly realized the mistake and stopped the anthem midway. Soon after, order was restored, and Australia’s correct anthem, Advance Australia Fair, was played. The match took place at the newly renovated Gaddafi Stadium, which has been prepared for the Champions Trophy.

Before the crucial match between Pakistan and India in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, former Pakistan cricketer Azam Khan sent his best wishes to the Mohammad Rizwan-led team. He said that the team that plays better on the day will come out victorious.
Pakistan is in a do-or-die situation as they take on their biggest rival, India, to keep their title hopes alive. Their campaign got off to a rough start after suffering a heavy 60-run loss to New Zealand in the opening match.
If Pakistan keeps struggling and loses to India on Sunday, they will have to rely on various scenarios to stay in the tournament. Wassan feels that if Pakistan wins this crucial match, the tournament will become much more thrilling.
"I wish the best of luck to the Pakistan Cricket Team. It's just a game. It will be a high voltage encounter, and the team which makes fewer mistakes will win the match," Azam Khan said while speaking to ANI.
"The rivalry between India and Pakistan is off the field. In the last few years, the matches between both the teams have been played in a friendly manner," he added.
Unlike the 50-over and T20 World Cups, Pakistan has a better record against India in the Champions Trophy, leading 3-2. Their most memorable win came in the 2017 final when they thrashed India by 180 runs. At that time, Virat Kohli was at his peak, and no target seemed impossible for his team. As they prepare to head to Dubai, Pakistan will be carrying a lot of confidence with them.
Pakistan kicked off its campaign on a losing match against New Zealand, whereas on the other hand, India sailed to a comfortable six-wicket win against Bangladesh to open its win account.
