Vijay Hazare Trophy: Virat Kohli’s Key Records and Career Highlights
Virat Kohli, the star of the Indian cricket team, is all set to get back into the Vijay Hazare Trophy Competition in the season of 2025/26 after a span of around 15 years. The ex-captain of the Indian cricket team has retired from T20 Internationals and Test matches and would now prepare for the ODI series of India vs New Zealand in the Domestic Competition, as the rule of the BCCI asks every member of the national team to engage in this competition during their free time. Kohli has been selected for the Delhi team for this competition and would definitely play a few matches under the guidance of new captain Rishabh Pant.
Virat Kohli has played 17 matches for Delhi in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, and it has been since 2010 that he last played. In the VHT, he has scored a total of 910 runs, with a highest score of 124, and an average of 60.66 in the domestic 50-over matches tournament. Virat has hit four fifties as well as four centuries in the 16 matches he has played in VHT.
Kohli is also only one run away from joining the cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar to become only the second player in the Indian cricket team to aggregate 16,000 runs in the List A matches. So far, Virat has notched up an impressive collection of 15,999 runs from his 342 List A matches at an impressive strike rate of 57.34. The star player has 57 hundreds and 84 fifties to his name in domestic one-day cricket.
Currently, Kohli is playing only in the ODI format and is going to use this tournament as preparation for the series against New Zealand, which is going to start from January 11 onwards. Kohli is currently in top form, as he is backed by four fifties, including two consecutive hundreds, in the last series of ODI matches that he participated in.
