In 10 matches, he scored 814 runs at a huge average of 90. What stood out was his strike rate of 109. Although he didn’t make a big impact in the Vijay Hazare Trophy final, he still won the Player of the Tournament award.

The bowlers didn’t get much credit, but Bhute and Thakur bowled well together and took 18 and 19 wickets respectively. Not to forget Darshan Nalkande played only five matches and yet picked up 14 scalps.
