USA’s Mohammad Mohsin upbeat for a ‘win’ against Pakistan
USA’s all-rounder Mohammad Mohsin believes his team has nothing to lose in this tournament.
"We don’t have anything to lose in this World Cup. We’re just enjoying the journey, and the way it has started, it looks exciting. Hopefully, tomorrow’s win will make it even better," Mohsin said on the eve of the Pakistan vs USA game.
USA had India on the backfoot
Given how they played India in the opening-day game, the USA did play with a fearless mindset. Though the momentum eventually stalled and India got back on their feet fairly easily, the USA pose a threat that is best not to be ignored.
What’s more, they aren’t flukes. Ask Pakistan, who should still have their Super Over defeat against USA etched in their memories.
The last time USA and Pakistan played
It was the first time both teams were playing each other, and USA made sure it was forgettable for Pakistan, who suffered their first defeat of what turned out to be a tournament full of horrors.
"It [vs India] was a tough loss, especially considering how the game was after the first 15 overs. But we focused on the positives from that match and our previous win against Pakistan. Honestly, I think the pressure is all on them," Mohsin said.
Mohsin, born in Peshawar, Pakistan, will be joined by former Pakistan pacer Ehsan Adil in the squad. Ehsan comes in as a replacement for Jasdeep Singh, who picked up a shoulder injury.
