Team India Schedule 2026: World Cup, England Tour, Sri Lanka Tests & More

India’s cricket team will have a busy start to 2026. They will first play New Zealand at home in three ODIs and five T20Is. The T20I matches will help India prepare well for the T20 World Cup 2026, where they are the defending champions. The World Cup will be held in India and Sri Lanka from February. This will be the first year after a long time when India won’t play a single Test match at home.
Their only red-ball clash at home against Afghanistan will be played in June 2026 and won’t be part of the World Test Championship (WTC) 2025/27. Just after the IPL 2026, it will be a vital game as the Afghanistan side will give India a spin threat. Post that, India will travel to England for three ODIs and five T20I clashes, followed by the two Test matches in Sri Lanka in August. Both those Test matches will be part of the WTC 2025/26 cycle.
During the period of September and October, India will return home for the three ODIs and five T20I clashes against West Indies, which will be followed by their away series against New Zealand, which will be decorated by two Test matches and five T20I games. Meanwhile, the last series for India in 2026 will take place at home, which will consist of three ODIs and as many T20I games. Their next series will also be at home against Australia in January 2027- the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia of five Tests.
