iDream Tiruppur Tamizhans have defeated the Lyca Kovai Kings by 7 wickets and with 19 balls to go. This victory will definitely boost their run rate. They have brought up their fourth victory of the season and have gone a step ahead in the play-off race.
Coming to bat first, Lyca Kovai Kings lost Jitendra Kumar cheaply, and after that, Suresh Lokeshwar and Sachin B registered a brief partnership between them. But the run rate was a bit sloppy, and LKK lost two of them and Guru Raghavendran in quick succession. Skipper Shahrukh Khan added 19 runs in just 9 balls. A good knock of 21 runs from Andre Siddarth and a 4-ball 9 run knock of Vidyuth P took the score to 137. Esakkimuthu took 3 wickets for the Tamizhans. T Natarajan, R Sai Kishore chipped in with two wickets each, and Ragupathy Silambarasan took a wicket.
Amith Sathvik Shines as Tiruppur Tamizhans Seal Victory in Style
In the run chase, Tiruppur Tamizhans started the innings with a few boundaries but got an early jolt as Tushar Raheja, the in-form man, got out for just 13. Sai Kishore promoted himself up in the order and was enormously lucky tonight to survive 19 balls. He was dropped thrice, his mishit landed in no man's land a couple of times, but he survived somehow. His 24-run knock helped his side a bit.
Amith Sathvik was the star of the show with the bat. He got a few boundaries early in the innings, and when the Kovai Kings spinners were bowling tight lines, he kept on milking the singles out and trudged towards his fifty. He eventually got to his half century and took the aggressive route afterwards. He remained unbeaten on 66 off 47 balls with 5 fours and 4 sixes. S Mohamed Ali finished the game with a maximum and remained unbeaten on 12 off 3 balls to seal the deal. P Bhuvaneswaran, Jhatavedh Subramanyan, and Ramesh Divakar took a wicket each.
