SKY Likely to Miss Upcoming White-Ball Series

Suryakumar Yadav has faced a sports hernia before, but on the left side. In January 2024, he had a similar surgery in Germany. He recovered in time to play in the IPL and later helped India win the T20 World Cup in the West Indies and USA.

This time, with surgery done on the right side, he may need at least one or two months to recover. After the ongoing India vs England series, the Indian team is set to play 3 ODIs and 3 T20Is. If SKY isn’t fit in time, the team will need someone to take his place. Shubman Gill, the current T20I vice-captain, is an option, though he may choose to rest after the England series.
