The Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA) has announced a strong squad for the upcoming Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan has been named the captain of the team. Several well-known IPL players are also part of the squad.
Ishan Kishan named Jharkhand captain for SMAT 2025–26
JSCA has confirmed the Jharkhand squad for the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Ishan Kishan will lead the team. Kumar Kushagra, Robin Minz and Anukul Roy have also been included. Ishan Kishan has a lot of T20 experience. He has played 206 T20 matches. He has also played for Mumbai Indians, Gujarat Lions and Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL.
Ishan has scored 5270 runs in T20 cricket at a strike rate of 134.20. Recently, he played for India A in the unofficial ODI series against South Africa A. After a poor start in the first ODI, he scored a fine half-century in the final match at Niranjan Shah Cricket Stadium in Rajkot. Kumar Kushagra, Robin Minz and Anukul Roy add more strength to the Jharkhand side. Kushagra and Minz are known for their power-hitting, while Anukul Roy is useful as an all-rounder.
Jharkhand are placed in Elite Group D with Delhi, Karnataka, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Saurashtra and Tripura. They will play their first match of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2025–26 against Delhi on November 26.
