Senior players not stepping up stung Pakistan, says Fatima

Pakistan are out of the Women's T20 World Cup as they bagged their third defeat in the tournament.
Pakistan’s miserable campaign
They began the campaign with a defeat against India and then followed it up with one versus South Africa. All three defeats shared a common theme: Pakistan losing the plot in the most unbelievable ways.
Against India, Pakistan's fielding and batting collectively tilted the game against them. The South Africa fixture once again saw the side collapse badly, which eventually became the reason behind the defeat. While fielding in their third fixture versus Bangladesh was relatively better, the woes with the batting remained for the side.
Chasing a modest 124-run target, Pakistan were 49 for no loss inside eight overs when they lost their first wicket. But a tremendous collapse followed, which saw them lose seven wickets in the next ten overs and fall short of the target by 24 runs.
Senior players failed to step up
Pakistan's captain Fatima Sana acknowledged that her side's batting had plenty of flaws which were aggravated as senior players failed to take responsibility.
"I think we were not up to the mark with the bat. The senior players should take responsibility and step up in such situations," said Fatima at the post-match presentation.
"We will try to sit together and discuss these things and try to change our thoughts. It is about the thoughts, and not skill. We will try to be skilful in our mindset," she added.
Pakistan will now face Australia in their next game, though the fixture is unlikely to have any say in the semi-finals race. Australia are yet to drop a game, leading Group 1 with three wins from three.
