Scotland name Azhar Ali as consultant for ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 tour of Nepal
Cricket Scotland has roped in former Pakistan captain Azhar Ali as their batting consultant for the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 tour of Nepal, scheduled to begin on May 12.
Azhar’s stint with Peshawar Zalmi
Azhar, who resigned from his dual role with the PCB as a member of the national selection committee and Head of Youth Development in November 2025, was with Peshawar Zalmi in the recent PSL. He served as the franchise’s fielding coach.
"I am really looking forward to linking up with the Scotland team, especially since I have an association with Scottish cricket going back many years from my early playing days," Azhar was quoted as saying.
"I'm excited to start working with what is clearly a talented team and looking forward to helping them to progress on this tour."
Azhar will support Scotland’s head coach, Owen Dawkins, on the tour as the team is set to take on the USA and Nepal in two games each. All of Scotland’s four games will be played TU Cricket Ground in Kirtipur.
