Sanju Samson Announced as ICC Men’s Player of the Month for March

March 2026's ICC Men's Player of the Month Award has been awarded to India's Sanju Samson because of his efforts in helping his country win their second ICC Men's T20 World Cup in 2026.

Samson was not an everyday starter for many of the first-round matches, however when given an opportunity in the Super Eights, he took full advantage. By winning Player of the Tournament, he became the first player to do so after missing the first two rounds of games. Samson beat out players such as Jasprit Bumrah and Connor Esterhuizen for this honour.

Samson had an outstanding month of March, including scoring 97 not out against West Indies in one of the most important matches during the tournament. He followed that up with 89 runs during the semi-final against England at Wankhede Stadium, and then had another 89 runs during the final against New Zealand. In three games, he scored 275 runs at a very high average and strike rate.

For Sanju, winning this award is a dream come true and one of the greatest moments in his life. Sanju is also playing well in the 2026 Indian Premier League, scoring a brilliant 115 not out while playing for Chennai Super Kings against Delhi Capitals.Now, he is also in the top 20 of ICC T20I batting rankings, showing he is one of the best players right now.
