Sahibzada Farhan breaks into the top five ICC T20I batting rankings
Pakistan's opener Sahibzada Farhan has climbed into the top five of the ICC T20I batting rankings, moving up one spot in the latest update.
T20I batters rankings
Farhan's rise in rankings owes to a strong comeback to international cricket when he played his first game in six years, having played only three T20Is back in 2018. Since his return, he has scored eight fifties in 34 games, bolstering his place in the team, which has a plethora of opening options.
Farhan is currently the only Pakistan batter inside the top ten rankings, with the next best being Babar Azam at 32nd.
Pakistan spinners fall
Among the bowlers, mystery spinner Abrar Ahmed has dropped a spot to fifth, while Mohammad Nawaz, who was on the brink of breaking into the top ten T20I batters at eleventh, has slipped two places to 13th now.
There was a significant rise for Salman Mirza, who impressed by taking three wickets in his solitary appearance in the recently concluded Sri Lanka series. The pacer has bettered his rankings by 16 places to occupy 19th spot.
Saim displaced by Sikandar Raza
In the all-rounders' list, Saim Ayub has been demoted from the top spot by Zimbabwe’s Sikandar Raza. Saim surprisingly rose to the top spot a few months ago, after his brilliant stint with the ball in the 2025 Asia Cup. Saim now sits second, while Mohammad Nawaz has retained his fifth place among all-rounders in the format.
Pakistan have a busy T20I schedule awaiting them, including their three-match T20I series against Australia, following which they will travel to Sri Lanka for the T20 World Cup.
