A great win for Royal Challengers Bengaluru against Mumbai Indians at Wankhede Stadium. Strong batting and a good team bowling effort helped RCB win by 18 runs. The hosts won the toss and decided to bowl first. 3 half centuries from the RCB top order as Phil Salt (78 off 36), Virat Kohli (50 off 38) and skipper Rajat Patidar (53 off 20) help the side get to 240/4.

RCB Beat MI by 18 Runs After Strong Batting and Team Bowling Performance

Ryan Rickelton and Rohit Sharma provided a good start to MI but the latter had to retire hurt due to a hamstring injury. Rickelton looked set hitting 37 in 22 balls with 3 fours and as many sixes. Suyash Sharma's introduction put MI on the backseat as the leg spinner dismissed both Rickelton and Tilak Varma in the 8th over. Suryakumar Yadav also got a start with 33 off 22 balls and added 47 runs with Hardik Pandya (40 off 22). Later in the order it was Sherfane Rutherford - the impact sub who remained unbeaten on 71 off 31 balls hitting 1 four and nine sixes in his knock but the required rate kept creeping away from MI.

Krunal Pandya was the pick of the bowlers with a tidy spell of 1/26. Suyash started off with a double wicket over but finished with 2/47. Jacob Duffy and impact player Rasikh Salam picked up a wicket apiece. Bhuvneshwar Kumar was wicketless and conceded 38 runs in his spell. The 18-run win has propelled RCB to number 3 in the points table. Mumbai Indians stay down at number 8 with just 1 win in 4 games.
