Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli Set to Return for ENG Series After Australia Loss

India suffered a 3-1 defeat in the Border Gavaskar Trophy series against Australia, after losing the fifth match at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Sunday. Not only was the batting of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli questioned, but there were rumors about Rohit stepping down from Test cricket or retiring from Test cricket after he withdrew from the Sydney test
Now that the Test season is over, India has another opponent to face in the form of England for a ODI series. The series also provide a good platform for the teams to prepare for the upcoming Champions Trophy tournament.
As per SportsTak, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are expected to be included in the Indian squad for the three-match ODI series which will be played at home against England and will begin from the 6th of February.

Gautam Gambhir belives that Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma still have the desire and the fight to be successful and will step back from the Test team or make a decision on their Test future keeping the interest of the team in mind. Gambhir said during the media interaction after the Sydney game, “They are tough people with hunger, they'll decide what is best for Indian cricket. To keep the dressing room happy, I have to be honest and fair to everyone. Rohit Sharma showed accountability at the top".
For the first time in the history of the competition, India will not be in the WTC final. In both the years 2021 and 2023, India has made it to the final but will not be playing in the June 2025 final which will be held at Lord’s.
