Rohit Sharma Set for Ranji Trophy Comeback as Mumbai Announces Squad for Clash Against J&KMumbai has announced their 17-member squad for the Ranji Trophy. Ajinkya Raahana will lead the Mumbai team, with Indian captain Rohit Sharma, young talented batter Jaiswal, and star batter Shreyas Iyer included in the squad. The Mumbai team will play the Ranji match against Jammu & Kashmir on January 23 at the MCA's BKC Ground.

In the recent press conference about the squad announcement of the ICC Champions Trophy and England Series, Rohit Sharma and the chief selector Ajit Agarkar attended. Rohit confirmed his availability during the press conference, and also he emphasized the importance of playing domestic cricket.

Rohit has taken this decision after a poor performance in the Border-Gavaskar series. In that series, Rohit scored only 31 runs and opted out from the fifth test in Sydney. Rohit's disappointing performance made speculations about his Test retirement, but Rohit clarified that he was not retiring from Test cricket in an interview.

India lost the Border-Gavaskar Trophy with 1-3 and also India eliminated from the World Test Championship final. After the series, the BCCI held a review meeting with the head coach Gambhir, captain Rohit, and chief selector Ajit Agarkar, emphasizing the importance of senior players participating in domestic cricket.

Rohit Sharma has been seen in Mumbai training camps with Ajinkya Rahane at Wankhede Stadium to prepare for the upcoming Ranji Trophy match against J&K. With the presence of international and experienced players with young talents Mumbai aims to put up a strong show against J&K.
