Rinku Singh Doubtful for Zimbabwe Clash in T20 World Cup on February 26
India opener Rinku Singh has returned home due to a family emergency. As a result, he might not be able to play in the Super Eight match between India and Zimbabwe in Chennai on February 26.
Rinku Singh Injury Concern Ahead of India vs Zimbabwe T20 World Cup Match
Rinku also didn't attend the night practice session of India at Chepauk. His performance in this tournament has not been impressive. He scored very few runs in the group matches and then got out for zero in India's massive defeat at the hands of South Africa.
If Rinku doesn't play, Sanju Samson might return to the Indian team. This will be beneficial for the team as it will get an equal chance to bat. Suryakumar Yadav might also be considered to bat at No. 3.

Since he has been doing well at Chepauk, Sanju Samson has been hitting plenty of big sixes, and appearing comfortable at the crease against fast bowlers, although he continues to struggle with the good length deliveries.
Samson is very relaxed when he was practicing his wicket-keeping, and signing fan mail, which attracted many viewers as he was practicing. Samson's practice performance might just convince the Indian selectors to change the starting playing XI for the match against Zimbabwe, especially since Rinku is believed to be injured.
Before the match against Zimbabwe, India will have another practice session to prepare for the match. After the match against Zimbabwe, India have their next match against West Indies, on March 1. If India qualify for the semi-finals, the semi-final match will be held on March 5 in Mumbai, or March 4 in Colombo if they are playing against Pakistan.
