RCB Got 90% of the Core Players They Wanted, Franchise Released Videos of Auction Planning.

 

Over two weeks after the completion of the IPL 2025 auction, the Royal Challenger Bengaluru franchise shared multiple videos about how they planned their auction. The videos give a first-of-a-kind sneak peek into how the team plans its auction.

 

The video shows how the team got 90% of the core players they wanted while losing marquee players like Yazuvendra Chahal and Venkatesh Iyer, whom they bid up to 23 crore for. 

 

The first video discusses their plans and beliefs on how they will approach the auction, what they need, and more; it also features snippets of Bhuvneshwar Kumar's planning and Bhuvaneswar Kumar's planning. In the Second video, management was discussing in detail the planning for their opener; RCB director and Dinesh Kartik discussed an opener who can score quickly; the team went into detail about several options like Phil Salt, His Butler, last year's 's's's captain Faf Du Plessis, Devon Conway, Will Jacks and Rachin Ravindra. In the video, all the members give their first choice, as Phil Salt, RCB, purchased him in the auction for 11 crore.

The third video discusses plans for overseas Pacers and domestic ones. The team shortlisted many pacers like Josh Hazelwood, Trent Boult, Mitchell Starc, Nuwan Thusara and more. Seeing that the team got Josh Hazelwood at a 10 crore price was interesting. The discussion then went on Indian Pacers; Karthik's choice was Bhuvaneswar Kumar; he mentioned

It was for fans to see that the team did get the Bhubaneswar Kumar. 

In the fourth video, the team planned to get a middle-order batsman. They discussed various batters, such as Liam Livingston, Jacob Bethell, Indian Jitesh Sharma, and Kunal Pandya. They focused on getting a middle batsman who could give them some overs. RCB tractor for cricket Mo Bobat talked about Bethell's exceptional talent, which made him the next Big English player after Harry Brook.

That's not a fairy tale. The team did lose their fair share, except for Venkatesh Iyer, the third-number batsman, and Yuzi Chahal, the leading spinner. But they couldn't get them back.

 

It was also interesting to see that the team faced a lot of backlash about Will Jack's release, but in the video, it was seen that they talked in detail about him and the other prospects, and there was careful planning about whom to buy and whom to release.
