RCB Cricketer Swastik Chikara Faces Social Media Backlash After Alleged Chat Leak
There’s yet another controversy surrounding a Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) cricketer. Swastik Chikara is in the middle of a social media controversy after an allegation was made by a woman that has posted screenshots of an alleged chat on social media. Even though he has been released by RCB ahead of the IPL 2026 season, Swastik was part of the winning team in IPL 2025. Chikara is in the middle of a controversy after a user on social media posted screenshots of an interaction she had with the cricketer. The woman claimed in her post that she met Chikara at a mall in Kanpur. Chikara invited her and her friend for coffee. The woman claimed that she didn’t recognize him because she doesn’t really follow cricket.
Alleged Chat Screenshots Spark Fresh Off-Field Controversy Around Swastik Chikara
According to the post, the encounter became awkward after the meeting. In her post, Sharma alleged, “Then after a day or two, he started flirting with me, and I removed him.” The person alleged in the social media platform that despite removing him from the social media platform, Chikara continued messaging her and also tried compelling her to meet at a particular café or restaurant. According to the allegations made in her post, Sharma alleged there was an insistence to meet at Starbucks, which the latter shared in the public domain in the form of screenshots.
The screenshots, which have since gone viral, seem to show Chikara persistently asking her to meet. This has drawn widespread criticism online. Though several users have come out in condemnation of the alleged behavior, some others have called for clarity and an official response as well.
As of now, there has not been any public statement issued by Swastik Chikara regarding this. RCB also has not commented on the matter so far. The incident adds to a growing list of off-field controversies involving cricketers. RCB have already faced a lot of flak for retaining Yash Dayal amid his ongoing legal battle.
