Rawalpindiz name partial replacement for Naseem Shah

by mishaalmubarak

Rawalpindiz have named Mubasir Khan as the partial replacement for Naseem Shah. Naseem, who picked up a side injury during the team’s match against Karachi Kings, has been ruled out of the league for the foreseeable future.

His return depends on medical scans scheduled for April 15 to assess his progress. This could allow him to return in the later stages of the league. Until then, Mubasir will fill in for the pacer.

Mubasir’s PSL experience

Mubasir, who has played two PSL seasons for Islamabad United, is the second bowler signed by Rawalpindiz following Naseem’s injury. Earlier, they signed New Zealand pacer Ben Sears, who has now joined the squad ahead of their fixture against Quetta Gladiators.

Mubasir has played a total of 62 T20s, 14 of which were for Islamabad, taking 30 wickets and scoring 749 runs.

Zaman Khan’s injury

Earlier, Rawalpindiz also lost Zaman Khan to an acromioclavicular joint (ACJ) dislocation during the National T20 Cup. The severity of the injury ruled him out of the PSL, leading to his replacement by Jalat Khan, who has played one game for the debutant side.

Rawalpindiz are still searching for their first win of the season, having lost all four of their matches so far, and occupy the bottom position in the standings. They will face Quetta Gladiators on April 10 in Karachi.
