India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has confirmed that he will play in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. The domestic one-day tournament starts on December 24. Big stars like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant will also take part. Jadeja, who was reincluded in the ODI side for the series against SA after being left out of the tour to Australia, will be hoping to put up impressive performances and cement his spot in the squad for the upcoming IND vs NZ series.

According to the Times of India, a Saurashtra Cricket Association official has confirmed that Ravindra Jadeja will play two matches for Saurashtra in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, on January 6 and January 8. Both matches will be played in Karnataka’s Alur. The report adds that Saurashtra’s squad could be modified if Jadeja is selected for the IND vs NZ ODI series.

Jadeja Set to Play Vijay Hazare Trophy to Strengthen India Comeback Bid

“Yes, he has confirmed to play these two games on January 6 and January 8. This is the plan for now,” a senior SCA official told the publication.

Ravindra Jadeja has played 260 List A matches. He has scored 3,911 runs and taken 293 wickets. His batting average is 32.86, and his bowling average is 34.22.

Jadeja will play for Saurashtra in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025/26 against Services and Gujarat. He is playing this tournament to keep himself in the race for a place in India’s squad for the 2027 World Cup.

“He is very much in the plans. But there will be some competition for places. Of course, he was there in the Champions Trophy squad, because we took those extra spinners with the conditions there. At the moment, we could only carry one and get some balance in the team with Washi and Kuldeep there as well. And I don’t think we are going to need more than that in Australia,” Agarkar had said after Jadeja’s snub in the IND vs AUS series.
