Rajasthan Royals stay alive in the playoff race with a dominant 7-wicket win at the SMS Stadium in Jaipur, their first home victory of the season. Meanwhile, Lucknow Super Giants slump to the bottom of the table after suffering their ninth defeat. Stand-in skipper Yashasvi Jaiswal flipped the coin in his favor and elected to bowl first. Mitchell Marsh and Josh Inglis provided a brilliant start to LSG adding 109 runs for the first wicket but RR commanded a strong comeback to restrict the total to 220/5. Marsh top scored with 96, Yash Raj Punja picked up 2/35 in his 4 overs removing Inglis and Nicholas Pooran in a brilliant effort.

RR started off well in the chase with Jaiswal and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi hitting 71 runs in the powerplay without losing a wicket. Jaiswal found some runs under his belt with 43 in 23 deliveries hitting 8 fours and a maximum. He smashed 23 in the opening over against Akash Singh but the pacer had the last laugh sending Jaiswal back in the 7th over.

Sooryavanshi had taken over the aggressor's role by the time and smashed the bowlers all over and beyond the park finding good company in Dhruv Jurel - the duo adding 105 runs for the 2nd wicket. Sooryavanshi took on Akash in the 9th over smashing 26 runs in the over moving to 49, but it was the 12th over delivered by Mayank Yadav that completely took the game away from LSG with the Jurel - Sooryavanshi duo smashing 29 runs in it, both the batters hitting a couple of sixes each in the over.

It was Mohsin Khan with a silent over breaking the big booming partnership as Sooryavanshi joined Marsh to be dismissed in the 90s in the game. The teenager scoring 93 off 38 balls with 7 fours and 10 maximums. Jurel enjoyed the pace on offer and moved to his 5th half century of the season. Donovan Ferreira finished things off in the final over with a maximum against Shahbaz Ahmed.

Mohsin Khan was the pick of the bowlers with 1/31 in 4 overs, Digvesh Singh Rathi was wicketless but conceded just 38 runs, Prince Yadav selected in the Indian ODI team earlier today was also wicketless with 0/43 to his name.
