"Things Got Heated!" Intense War of Words Between Virat Kohli and Sam Konstas at MCG

The Border-Gavaskar Trophy has been largely a gentleman's affair, with little drama, between India and Australia, but Virat Kohli certainly stirred things up on the Melbourne clash, and then 19-year-old Sam Konstas was in the spotlight.
What might have sparked the whole chain reaction was when Konstas fearlessly took on Jasprit Bumrah. The bold shots he delivered seemed to have really stung Kohli. Further, the tension was not abated when Konstas hit one straight towards Mohammed Siraj and exchanged some words. Kohli could never be a man of backing down. He delivered a firm shoulder nudge, showing his displeasure at the young batter's attitude.
Konstas wasn't going to back off either and attempted to try to have a word with Kohli. But in place of words, Kohli charged towards him and seemed to be ready to take things up a level. It took the gentle touch of Usman Khawaja to calm him down, as he rested a reassuring hand on the shoulder of Kohli.
Meanwhile, fearless batting of Konstas has provided the platform for Australia for a strong start. Here, at the time of writing, the visitors cruised at 76/0 after 13.4 overs. Konstas remained unbeaten with a fiery 55 along with Khawaja adding some steady support at 20 not out. Both Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj have run out of answers as India strives for a breakthrough.
This match is more than just a game; and India needs it for survival in the race towards the WTC 2025 final. As so much cricket is left in the game, Kohli and his men would surely need to bring their A game to turn the tables on their way back into it.
"Have a look where Virat walks. Virat's walked one whole pitch over to his right and instigated that confrontation. No doubt in my mind whatsoever."
