Quetta announce captain and coaching staff for PSL 11
Quetta Gladiators have named Saud Shakeel as their captain for the upcoming Pakistan Super League (PSL) season.
Saud released and bought again
Saud led the franchise last season and took them to their first PSL final since 2017. However, he was surprisingly not retained by the franchise ahead of the auction and was bought at the auction for just PKR 6.5 million.
Quetta’s coaching staff
Quetta have also appointed Sarfaraz Ahmed, who retired from international cricket a couple of days ago, as their team director. Sarfaraz is PSL’s most capped captain, having led Quetta in 80 games from the league’s inception to 2023. The coaching staff includes former pacer Wahab Riaz as the bowling coach.
Additionally, Moin Khan will remain the side’s head coach and will be assisted by Iqbal Imam.
Where do Quetta play?
Quetta will begin their PSL campaign against Karachi Kings on March 27 at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore. The Gladiators will play their games across five venues, including Lahore, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Karachi, and Multan.
It merits mention here that Gladiators have completed their squad for the season, having roped in 20 players, the maximum squad limit for a PSL team.
