PSL 2026 Auction: Date, Time, Rules and Live Streaming Details

This marks the first time that the Pakistan Super League will hold a player auction for the season 2026. Until this point, all player selections were done through a draft system However, there will be an auction this year on February 11, 2026. So far there have been 10 seasons of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

In addition to growing from 6 to 8 teams in the league, there are also rules for the 11th season. The Pakistan Cricket Board confirmed the two new franchises which will be based out of Hyderabad and Sialkot, in conjunction with the six currently existing franchises; Islamabad United, Karachi Kings, Lahore Qalandars, Multan Sultans, Peshawar Zalmi and Quetta Gladiators.

PSL 2026 Introduces First-Ever Player Auction and League Expansion

The total expenditure for each Team is capped at USD1.6Million (approx. INR14.7Crores). Each Team is required to draft at least 16 but no more than 20 players, inclusive of 5 or less International Players.

Each Team may also sign 1 International player who has not played an entire season of the 2025 season (no Player may be signed from 2025). At least 3-4 of the starting line-up must be international players and there will be at least 1 International player (guaranteed) in the final 11.

The current six franchises participating in the auction will have the opportunity to keep a maximum of four players from their roster. Players not retained by existing franchises will become eligible for selection by the two expansion franchises (each able to select four players). Players will be placed into a specific price category with predetermined starting prices and minimum raise amounts for each category to help determine the total value of players selected during the PSL 2026 auction.
