Harshit Rana silences critics with a match-winning spell after Gautam Gambhir’s warning

Faced with criticism after a poor performance in the first two ODIs against Australia, Harshit Rana made a remarkable comeback in the third ODI at the Sydney Cricket Ground, taking four wickets, which proved crucial to India's victory. Several former cricketers had questioned Rana's selection in Team India, and some even accused him of being Gambhir's "yes man." When he was included in the playing eleven ahead of Arshdeep Singh before the third ODI, it was a do-or-die situation for him.

Under pressure, Rana called his childhood coach Shravan and told him that he wanted to silence his critics with his performance. Coach Shravan told the Times of India that Gambhir gave Rana a clear message: perform, or he would be dropped. Shravan defended Gambhir, saying that he has a good eye for talent and that the players he backs perform exceptionally well.

Coach Shravan strongly reprimanded former cricketers who criticized Rana, especially Krishnamachari Srikkanth. He said that after retirement, many cricketers have started YouTube channels to earn money, but please do not scrutinize a child who has just started.

He requested that no young player should be targeted for publicity. Rana answered his critics by taking 4 wickets for 39 runs in Sydney. With this brilliant performance, Rana finished as the highest wicket-taker for both teams in the entire series.
