PCB Sends Proposed T20I Tour Schedule to Cricket Australia

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has sent a suggested schedule for Australia’s T20 tour of Pakistan to Cricket Australia, according to sources.

Sources say the PCB has shared two possible schedules for a three-match T20I series between Pakistan and Australia. As per the plans, Australia may arrive in Pakistan on January 26 or 27 and leave on February 2 or 3. The sources added that the series has been tentatively structured to include two back-to-back matches, followed by a one-day break before the third and final T20I.

According to the draft schedule, two of the three matches may be played on the weekend. The matches are planned for January 29 and 31, while the third and final T20I is likely to be held on February 1. Meanwhile, the men in green are currently engaged in their first international assignment of the year, facing Sri Lanka in a three-match T20I series. 

The series started on Wednesday at the Rangiri Dambulla International Cricket Stadium in Dambulla. The second and third T20I matches will also be played at the same ground on January 9 and 11. The Sri Lanka series carries added importance as a key preparatory assignment ahead of the T20 World Cup, scheduled to run from February 7 to March 8.

In the past, Pakistan and Australia have played against each other 28 times in T20 International matches.The Kangaroos have won 14 matches, while the green shirts have claimed 12 victories, with one match ending in a tie and another producing no result.
