by Prakash Reddy V

Pakistan squad for west indies seriesOn Saturday, January 11, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced a 15-player squad against West Indies for two Test matches. The team looks very different with seven new changes because they lost their last series against South Africa 2-0. Also, Imam-ul-Haq is back on the team after not playing since their games in Australia.

Mohammad Huraira is back on the team in place of Saim Ayub who was injured, and Abdullah Shafique who has not been performing well in his recent games is out of the squad. The selectors have selected a trio of spin bowlers, with off-spinner Sajid Khan, mystery spinner Abrar Ahmed, and left-arm spinner Noman Ali working together.

Mohammad Ali has called back into the squad and Khurram Shahzad stayed in the team. For the first time, Kashif Ali, who hasn't played for the national team before, is getting a chance. Aamir Jamal, Mohammad Abbas, Mir Hamza, and Naseem Shah were given a break from the team to help manage their workload.

Rohail Nazir is taking over as the wicketkeeper because Haseebullah who was playing as a wicketkeeper-batter hurt his hand in the Cape Town Test in South Africa. Before taking charge, Rohail Nazir used to be the captain of the Pakistan U19 team.

Shaheen Afridi is still absent

Shaheen Afridi, the fast bowler isn't in the test squad since they decided to give him a break in the middle of the series with England. They are getting ready to begin the two-game series on January 17, and they've scheduled both matches to happen in Multan.
