Pakistan’s Gull Feroza Among ICC Women's Player of the Month Award Nominees

by mishaalmubarak

Pakistan’s top-order batter Gull Feroza is one of three nominees for the ICC Women's Player of the Month award for May 2026.

Feroza’s purple patch

Making her WODI debut in April last year, Feroza hit a purple patch in the ODI series versus Zimbabwe at home. The wicket-keeper batter scored one fifty and two hundreds, including an unbeaten one, during the three-game ODI leg of the tour.

In total, she compiled 256 runs in three games at an average of 128.00 and a strike rate of 103.64. In T20Is, though she could not accumulate big runs, her innings were significantly impactful. She scored 82 runs in four games played during May at an impressive strike rate of 157. Her tally includes a brilliant 19-ball 37 against Zimbabwe in the first T20I.

During the Ireland tri-series, she hit a quick 32 from just 15 balls against the home team, with her strike rate of 213 runs per hundred balls being the quickest for batters across both innings.

Bell and Green the other nominees

Feroza will compete with England's Lauren Bell and New Zealand's Maddy Green for the award. Bell carried her side’s bowling attack against New Zealand and India, as she grabbed five wickets in three ODIs against New Zealand.

She followed it up with an even more incredible display of bowling in T20Is versus India. The right-arm pacer bagged eight wickets in four T20I matches at an average of 14 and an economy rate of 7.00.

Green, on the other hand, was recognized for her outings in the middle-order for New Zealand. Coming down the order for the Kiwis, Maddy banked on her hitting skills to not only deliver cameos but stitch partnerships with fellow batters.

She scored two fifty-plus scores, one each in ODIs and T20Is, against England.
