Pakistan, India to clash on February 1 as ICC confirms schedule for Super Sixes
Pakistan U19 and India U19 will face each other on February 1 in what will be the last fixture of the Super Sixes stage of the World Cup before the playoffs begin. Besides the two, teams including Australia, South Africa, West Indies, Ireland, Scotland, USA, Bangladesh, Zimbabwe, Afghanistan, and England are also part of this stage of the mega-event.
Who will play who?
Under the tournament rules, Groups A and D will play each other as part of one group. Similarly, Groups B and C will pair up for the Super Sixes fixtures. However, teams in their respective Super Sixes groups will not play the same ranked team in another group. For instance, the first-ranked team in Group A will play the teams ranked second and third in Group D only.
This is why Australia (the first-placed team in Group A) and India (the first-placed team in Group B) will face the West Indies (the second-placed team in Group D) and Pakistan (the second-placed team in Group C), respectively.
This India-Pakistan clash will be the first of their three scheduled clashes in February, as the two are scheduled to play the Women’s Asia Cup Rising Stars and the T20 World Cup, both on February 15.
