Kiwis Resistance

New Zealand tried to resist England’s bowling lineup with Kane Williamson’s 93 runs, Glenn Philips's fifty in the first inning and Daryl Mitchell’s 84 runs in the second inning but their efforts went to waste due to poor fielding and other players' inability to build upon the start. Despite the fightback from some New Zealand players, England's disciplined bowling attack dominates them.

Jacob’s Sensational Bethell

Jacob Bethell, a young debutant in the match, gave an impressive performance with the bat in England’s second innings batting. The young left-hand batter just bagged his first contract from IPL last week at the auction as RCB added him to their squad for Rs. 2.6 Crore price. In the second innings, Jacob scored an unbeaten 50 off just 37 balls leading to England's win. His partnership with Joe Root helped England reach the relatively small target of 104.

It's been over 15 years since England won any series in New Zealand. They won the last series in 2008, and the win in the first test gave them a chance to win the first test series after 15 years. On the other side, hosts need to work extra on their fielding before the next test. The second test will start on December 6 and England will try to win the series while New Zealand will try to level it.
