Australian opener Nathan McSweeney showcases his skill in the first match after getting dropped from the remainder of the Border Gavaskar trophy. His innings came during the chase in the match between Brisbane Heat and Adelaide strikers. 

 

Batting at number 3, He scored 78 runs out of 49 balls against Adelaide Strikers in the second innings. During his innings, he hit 10 boundaries and two sixes with a strike rate of 159.18. His innings were more important as both the openers got dismissed at the start of this innings. During the first inning, you also did a runout with Alex Ross at his personal score of 20 in the sixteenth over alone with taking a catch, too, for his performance in the match, he got the Man of the Match Award.

Adelaide Strikers vs Brisbane Heat: Match Summary 

 

After winning the toss, Brisbane Heat decided to bowl first. For Adelaide Strikers, Matt Short and D’Arcy Short came to bat. The striker lost their first wicket in the first over itself, and D’arcy was dismissed by Xavier Barlett at a team score of 3 runs, and the team lost another opener in the fourth over. Strikers' top scorers were Jamie Overton and Ollie Pop, who scored 45 and 34, respectively. In his first inning, Overton hit three boundaries and three sixes with a strike rate of 187. Adelaide Strikers scored 174 for six wickets in its 20 overs of batting. W. Prestwidge took two wickets in the innings.

 

When Brisbane Heat came to chase the target, their start was no different. The team lost its openers in just the first 20 balls, with Colin Munro and Jimmy Peirson scoring 7 and 8 runs, respectively. And then Nathan McSweeney came to bat at no. 3, he just took one off the pitch and went unbeaten after winning the match, after he came the team lost six wickets, but today he was in the mood to prove that the management took the wrong decision of dropping him from the Border Gavaskar Trophy. Along with him, Matt Renshaw also showed 54 runs in just 27 balls, hitting three balls. Both contributed to a 66-run partnership in just 33 balls for the third wicket. From the Adelaide striker side, Henry Thornton and Lloyd Pope took 2-2 wickets each, but that wasn't fruitful for the team as the Heat chased the target in the last ball of the match.
