Bangladesh fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman has registered for the eleventh edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) draft, days after his snub from the Indian Premier League (IPL). The announcement was made by the PSL through its social media.

"Batters better shake carefully… it’s going to Fizz in the #NewEra. Mustafizur Rahman joins HBL PSL 11!" the league captioned the post.

Mustafizur’s previous PSL stint

This isn’t the first time Mustafizur has signed up for a PSL draft, having played for Lahore Qalandars in the third edition of the league. He featured in five games that season, taking four wickets.

Mustafizur, who played 60 IPL games across seven seasons, was the only Bangladesh player signed for this season in the IPL mini-auction held in December.

He was roped in by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for INR 9.2 crore. However, less than a month after his signing, the franchise released him on the “instructions” of the BCCI.

Tense relations between India and Bangladesh

The fallout led to the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) requesting a shift of their T20 World Cup games out of India, as well as banning the broadcast of the league in the country.

The draft for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) will take place this month, after the two new teams are finalised in an auction in Islamabad on January 8.
