Mohammad Nawaz and Salman Mirza among Sialkot’s retentions for PSL 11

by mishaalmubarak

Sialkot Stallionz have signed Mohammad Nawaz as their Platinum category retention ahead of the player auction on February 11. Nawaz, who was released by Islamabad United a few days ago after they retained Shadab Khan, will earn PKR 61.6 million for his retention with the new PSL franchise.

Salman Mirza moves from Qalandars

Alongside Nawaz, Salman Mirza, released by Lahore Qalandars earlier, has also been retained by Sialkot. Salman, who impressively took nine wickets in four games for Qalandars last season, including five in the playoffs, has been signed for PKR 39.2 million in the Diamond category. The left-arm pacer is part of Pakistan’s World Cup-bound squad.

Sialkot have also struck a deal with Ahmed Daniyal, who helped Pakistan Shaheens win the Asia Cup Rising Stars in November last year. Daniyal was part of Peshawar Zalmi last season; however, with a PKR 22.4 million deal, he will represent Stallionz this year.

Four retentions plus Steve Smith

Their last pick is Saad Masood from the Emerging category, who has been signed for PKR 8.4 million.

These retentions will join Sialkot’s direct signing, Steve Smith, as the franchise looks to stack the rest of the team at the auction. For retentions, the new franchise has spent PKR 131.6 million out of its PKR 505 million purse.
