List of the highest No. 6 partnerships for Pakistan in Tests

by mishaalmubarak

Salman Ali Agha and Mohammad Rizwan now have the second-most runs as a No. 6 partnership for Pakistan in Test cricket. The two batters once again helped their side recover against Bangladesh on day four of the Sylhet Test. Collectively, they have shared 925 runs in 19 innings, out of which 261 runs have come this year. This tally is the second-highest by a pair in the ongoing series, behind only the 313 runs shared by Mominul Haque and Najmul Hossain Shanto.

Salman, Rizwan rescue Pakistan again

Salman and Rizwan bailed Pakistan out after they lost their set batters, Babar Azam and Shan Masood, in the second session of the penultimate day. Both batters scored 70-plus knocks each, but a Taijul Islam delivery with the new ball broke the partnership. Salman Ali Agha departed, which reduced Pakistan’s chances of winning significantly.

Day four ended with Pakistan at 316/7, still 121 runs away from victory.
