Lahore Qalandars sign Ryan Burl for PSL 11
Lahore Qalandars have signed Zimbabwe’s Ryan Burl for the upcoming Pakistan Super League (PSL) season, set to begin on March 26. Burl becomes the third Zimbabwe cricketer in the league this year, joining Sikandar Raza, who is also part of Lahore, and Brian Bennett, who was signed by Peshawar Zalmi a couple of days ago.
Burl’s T20 numbers
Burl initially went unsold during the PSL auction, where he had registered for PKR 22 million. He has not featured in the league before, though he has played in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) and International League T20 (ILT20).
For Zimbabwe, the all-rounder has played 118 T20Is, scoring 1848 runs at an average of 25 with a strike rate of 124. He has also taken 62 wickets in his T20I career at an average of 25.
Burl is Lahore’s sixth overseas signing, with each team allowed a total of seven. He is likely to miss the defending champions’ opening game against Hyderabad Kingsmen on March 26, as the signing was announced just a day before the start of the competition.
