The Kerala Cricketer Association has revealed the squad for the Vijay Hazare Trophy, and a young Rohan Kunnummal has been announced as the captain. Sanju Samson, who made the cut in the T20 World Cup squad, will also feature in the 50-over tournament.

Other than that, the team will also have experienced players in the form of MD Nidheesh, as well as Vishnu Vinod. Not just that, the team will also have upcoming spinner Vignesh Puthur, who had impressed one and all, during his stint with MI in IPL 2025. Currently, the state of Kerala finds itself in group E, along with Tripura, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Jharkhand, Pondicherry, as well as Tamil Nadu.

Coming back to Sanju Samson, if he can come up with some decent performances in VHT, maybe that would be the starting point for his return to the format. In ODIs, he has an average of 56 with a ton and three fifties.

This year’s VHT shall prove to be quite significant as the Indian stars shall be present for the competition. Ever since it has been made compulsory for the Indian players to play domestic cricket, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant, and other players shall also be seen in action, among others.
