New Zealand's Kane Williamson will not travel to Mumbai for the third and final Test against India as he focuses on recovering from his groin injury. New Zealand Cricket (NZC) confirmed that Williamson will remain in New Zealand to complete his rehabilitation ahead of the home Test series against England, which begins on November 28 at Hagley Oval. Head coach Gary Stead noted that while Williamson has shown promising signs of progress, a cautious approach is necessary for his full fitness. "It’s best for him to stay here and ensure he’s ready for the first Test in Christchurch," Stead stated. The final Test in Mumbai starts on Friday, with New Zealand leading the series 2-0, marking India's first home Test series loss in 12 years.
