Jos Buttler Responds to Ravi Shastri’s Claims About England’s Net Sessions

England’s recent white-ball series against India didn’t go as planned. England started the series with five T20I matches followed by three ODI matches. India dominated the entire series by winning four T20Is out of five matches and all three ODIs.

Former head coach of India Ravi Shastri revealed that England had only one net session throughout the entire tour. He also pointed out that the team didn’t practice well before the ODIs in Nagpur and Cuttack. But the England captain Jos Buttler denied Ravi Shastri's claims.

After England's 3-0 ODI series loss, Buttler admitted that it had been a long tour for his team. Buttler mentioned that they only skipped practice sessions some days but he assured that everyone had trained a lot throughout the series.

According to the reports from the Cricbuzz, the England captain mentioned "I'm not sure that's quite true. I think we've had a reasonably long tour, a few long travel days... there have been a couple of times we've not trained but we've certainly done plenty of training throughout the tour. We obviously try to create a really good environment but don't mistake that for a lazy environment or a lack of effort. The guys are desperate to perform, do well and improve,”

"We want the results to build confidence and win games - that feels a lot better having won matches as opposed to losing. We're up against a good side in their own conditions, they're probably the benchmark in ODI cricket at the moment,"  Buttler added.

Since the 2023 World Cup, this was England's fourth straight ODI series defeat, but Buttler and his team will look to rebuild their confidence ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The Champions Trophy was returned after eight years. The matches were played in Pakistan and Dubai.
