Ishan Kishan Climbs to No.2, Sanju Samson and Jasprit Bumrah Rise in Latest ICC Rankings

Ishan Kishan, Sanju Samson, and Jasprit Bumrah, who were key players in India’s winning campaign in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup, have moved up in the latest rankings released by the International Cricket Council on Wednesday. Samson, who scored 321 runs in the tournament, including three consecutive fifties, climbed 18 spots among batters, from 40 to 22, after his performance earned him the Player of the Series Award in the World Cup.
Kishan, who amassed 317 runs in the World Cup, climbed two spots to second in the rankings, below compatriot Abhishek Sharma, who retained the top spot. Among bowlers, Bumrah, India’s joint-highest wicket-taker in the World Cup (14 wickets), climbed one spot to sixth, while Axar Patel, who took three wickets in the final and two crucial catches in the semifinal against England, climbed six spots to enter the top 20, at 17th.
