Ireland Women to be led by Prendergast in tri-series against Pakistan and West Indies

by mishaalmubarak

Ireland women's captain Gaby Lewis will miss the upcoming tri-series involving Ireland, Pakistan women, and the West Indies women as she recovers from a leg injury.

While Gaby is expected to lead Ireland in the World Cup following the series, vice-captain Orla Prendergast has been named captain for the tri-series.

Apart from Gaby’s absence, Ireland will also be without right-arm pacer Jane Maguire, whose injury has ruled her out of both the tri-series and the World Cup. Her sister, Aimee Maguire, has been named in both squads.

The same squad selected for the tri-series will travel to England for the World Cup, with Gaby Lewis joining the side later. Ireland will open the tri-series against the West Indies Women on May 28 in Dublin. The team will play four T20Is before World Cup warm-up matches begin.
