IPL 2026: Royal Challengers Bengaluru Players to Wear No. 11 Jersey, Black Armbands, 11 Seats Reserved
Royal Challengers Bengaluru planned something to treat their fans special in IPL 2026. Players will wear jersey number 11 during practice sessions on match days. They won’t wear this jersey in the normal match but only during practice before the match. Moreover, the team will wear black arm bands as a mark of respect.
RCB also planned to reserve 11 seats permanently at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. This is for the remark of fans and respect for the 11 fans who lost their lives in a tragic stampede.

The tragic stampede occured on June 4th when the team was celebrating their first IPL trophy in 2025. A huge crowd had gathered, but the poor arrangements and lack of appropriate security, things got out of control. Sadly, some fans lost their lives.

According to RCB CEO Rajesh Menon, "This is to remember those fans forever." He also said that the players will only wear the jersey with the number 11 during the practice time on the match day and will also wear a black armbands.
The RCB will begin their IPL 2026 season on March 28 at home against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Among the seven matches that the RCB will host, five matches will be played at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, and the remaining two matches will be played in Raipur.
