IPL 2026 Mini-Auction: Full List of Players Released by All 10 Teams ( Confirmed)
Mini-auctions in the IPL are usually not the time for big changes. Teams mostly follow a few simple rules, like comparing a player’s performance with their price and checking how many good players are available. Using this approach, it is unlikely that many top players from last season will be released. As of Friday, November 14, only Venkatesh Iyer seems likely to be let go by Kolkata Knight Riders.
Venkatesh Iyer was bought for Rs 23.75 crore last year but scored just 142 runs in 11 games, which did not match his high price. The Knight Riders have valued him in the past, so there is a chance they may try to buy him back. Other top buys from last year, like Rishabh Pant, Shreyas Iyer, Jos Buttler, KL Rahul, and others, are expected to be safe for now.
Besides Iyer, players like Quinton de Kock and Anrich Nortje are also likely to be released. The Knight Riders will enter the mini-auction with around Rs 35-40 crore, enough to try for players like Cameron Green, who is in high demand. Despite rumors, Ajinkya Rahane, their captain and top scorer last season, will be retained. SunRisers Hyderabad are expected to keep Heinrich Klaasen, even though he had a modest season. They seem to trust the experienced South African batter. The team has also traded for Mohammed Shami from Lucknow SuperGiants, while Shardul Thakur has moved to Mumbai Indians. Arjun Tendulkar is another new addition for Lucknow.
Lucknow SuperGiants will release some players, including Ravi Bishnoi, David Miller, and possibly Shamar Joseph. They are keeping Mayank Yadav despite his fitness issues because he is young and fast. The team is trying to balance experienced players with potential stars for the next season. The teams that finished last season poorly, like Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals, are making more changes. Both sides are expected to release several players, while the high-profile Jadeja-Sanju Samson trade is still being finalized. This is part of their effort to improve for the next season.
Teams that did well last season, like Royal Challengers Bangalore and Punjab Kings, are mostly keeping their squads. Some players, like Mayank Agarwal, Liam Livingstone, Glenn Maxwell, and Aaron Hardie, may be released or not recalled. Mumbai Indians have added Mayank Markande in a trade. Delhi Capitals are likely to release T Natarajan and Jake Fraser-McGurk.
